Biodegradable sunscreen refers to a formula that breaks down through biological processes under specified conditions. When comparing biodegradable sunscreens, check what was tested, where it breaks down, and the results. Recognized biodegradability testing methods assess breakdown under controlled conditions.
Is mineral sunscreen automatically biodegradable?
No. A mineral UV filter identifies how a sunscreen provides protection. It does not, by itself, establish that the finished formula is biodegradable. Look for evidence covering the formula rather than relying on its ingredient names.
What ingredients does Sky and Sol sunscreen use?
Our sunscreen combines 25% non-nano zinc oxide with grass-fed tallow. The zinc oxide is the active UV filter, and tallow forms part of the moisturizing base. Each product lists its full ingredients so you can check the formula before buying.
Which SPF options are available?
Sky and Sol offers SPF 30 and SPF 50 options. Our SPF 30 has a lighter finish with less visible white residue. SPF 50 offers a higher labeled protection level. Follow each product’s application and reapplication directions.
Can I use Sky and Sol sunscreen on my face and body?
Yes. Our face and body sunscreen is intended for both. Check the intended use on the product you choose, especially when shopping for a body-specific formula.
Does Sky and Sol sunscreen contain added fragrance?
Our face and body sunscreen formulas contain no added fragrance. Check the complete ingredient list before buying if you need to avoid a particular ingredient.
Will it leave a white cast?
Our Anti-White-Cast technology helps reduce visible mineral residue. SPF 50 can leave more white residue than SPF 30. The finish can vary with your skin tone and application.
